In partnership with the MSHB (Maison des Sciences de l’Homme en Bretagne) et the PUR (Presses universitaires de Rennes).
Experimentation with 4 PUR journals: Annales de Bretagne et des Pays de l'Ouest (history), ArcheoSciences (archaeometry), Éducation & didactique (didactics) and Norois (geography).
The aim of the project is to design a method combining neural machine translation (NMT) and human post-editing to improve the quality of article metadata within the editorial process of scientific journals.

GOALS
The aim of the project is to develop an efficient and economical translation methodology that can benefit all researchers and professionals working for scientific journals. The aim is to develop a translation methodology that can be reproduced and transferred to other journals and disciplinary fields.
PROJECT PHASES
- Analysis of existing translations and comparison with machine translation
- Human post-editing of metadata generated in English by DeepL
- Testing the procedure on issues published in 2021
DELIVERABLES
- Guidelines for writing and translating metadata for journal authors and editorial boards
- Bilingual glossaries and translation memories for each journal
- Best practice guides and tutorials
